Living in DIFC

DIFC, the Dubai International Financial Centre, was established in 2004 as a 110-hectare financial free zone off Sheikh Zayed Road, between the Trade Centre area and Downtown Dubai. Alongside its banks, law firms, and the galleries and restaurants of Gate Avenue, it has a small but prestigious residential market.

Homes range from 1- to 3-bedroom apartments to penthouses, in towers such as Index Tower (Foster + Partners), Central Park Towers, Burj Daman, Limestone House and Sky Gardens. New projects include Heights Tower and Four Seasons Private Residences DIFC, both due around 2029, with the Zabeel District expansion to follow.

One thing buyers must know: DIFC property is registered with the DIFC Registrar of Real Property, not the Dubai Land Department. It falls under DIFC's own Real Property Law, with its own transfer fees and procedures. We'll walk you through the differences before you buy.
